Overseas Travel Form
Most hacking attempts into Office 365 originate from overseas. To protect you, we block overseas sign-ins by default. Fill in this form before you travel and we’ll whitelist the countries you need.
Protecting your Microsoft 365 account while you travel
To help protect you from fraud and financial loss we have policies in place that block overseas attempts into your Office 365 environment. By restricting access to only the countries where you operate, we reduce the risk of unauthorised access and potential cyberattacks.
We do this for the same reason you lock your house door, lock your car, and have a password on your mobile phone — to make you feel comfortable and secure.
If someone was trying to break into your house every day, you would no doubt increase your security. Hackers and scammers can be anywhere in the world and they are trying to get into your systems 24/7.
What to do
Fill in the form and we will schedule the country or countries you are visiting to be removed from the list of restricted countries before you leave. Then, once you are back, we will close the security risk.
Stopovers & transit
When traveling, you may use the internet connection at a stopover airport or the airline’s internet while on a flight — which will route traffic through a different country. Let us know your full itinerary including transit countries.
eSIM users
If you are using an eSIM, your connection may come from a different country than where you are located. Please let us know if you are still blocked while travelling — email us from your personal email or message us on WhatsApp.
Consider using a VPN
We recommend Proton VPN — based in Switzerland with strong privacy credentials. A VPN will enable you to connect to Australian servers, making your connection to Office 365 appear local.
